Prevent employees using unauthorized software
Sophos Endpoint Security now also delivers general application control in addition to existing virus, spyware, adware, potentially unwanted application (PUA) and hacker protection.
Sophos blocks legitimate consumer applications that can undermine productivity and network performance in a business environment. This key development makes Sophos the first security vendor to integrate anti-virus protection and general application control.
System administrators tell us that applications that impact end-user productivity or network bandwidth cause the most concern.
Sophos Anti-Virus allows you to control VoIP, Instant Messaging, P2P file-sharing applications, browser toolbars, and games. Applications can be blocked or authorized for different groups of computers using ActivePolicies™ in Sophos Enterprise Console.
For example, VoIP could be switched off for office-based desktop computers, yet authorized for remote computers.

Application Control is an optional feature, available at no extra cost. New and existing customers have the option to deploy Sophos Anti-Virus either with or without Application Control.
